Growing Pains…

So today, I went to look at a school for Sofia. I cannot even tell you how great the school was but all I was thinking was “Does she really need to go to school, what if there’s an earthquake, what if that turtle gets out  of its cage and bites her finger off, what if a crazy parent steals my kid?”….

PEOPLE IS THIS NORMAL??????? Is this what you should be thinking?

OH! And then as we were leaving I saw a school bus and I thought “Oh, they could never drive her anywhere, god forbid the bus driver was a drinker or tired”…. I mean, seriously?!

I know in my heart she needs to go to school and its going to be great for her because she loves other kids, playing and learning. Again, it is  me - not wanting my little angel to be too far. PARENTS, please tell me you have had the same thoughts…..I can’t even imagine leaving her for 6 hours! That’s like the WHOLE DAY!!!!! :( would it be weird for me to sit in the parking lot for the first… I don’t know - year?

My Little Pony Charity Project
icon1 Leah | icon2 General | icon4 09 19th, 2008| icon3Comments Off

I would love for my Little Pony to make money for this charity, so pass it on to your charitable friends for me ok? :) I have to tell you, bless these My Little Pony people, they sent me two ponies to decorate (in case you mess one up), and Sofia saw them and insisted that she decorate them. So, I had to call these nice folks and ask them for more ponies, which they sent, THEN I get two more ponies, hated the one that I did and then agonized over this one. Finally, I got it right, but it did take me about a month to do! I would love for this to do well :) I thank you in advance.

Love,

Leah

For the LRG…

Oh my goodness! You guys are so funny!!!! I was reading the posts and let me help you all out for a second ok? When we landed in NYC for the party, we went directly to the hotel for the surprise party. We had to get back to LA by Monday because we had a funeral to go to. So, Ang and I left the party @ 3am and went to eat and then to the airport for a 6:55am flight back to L.A. I was there for 8 hours! Of course if I had time to hang with you guys, I would have. That is not the way I would want to see you guys anyway. It would be like “Hey, Renee, nice to see ya babe, gotta go”. That’s not right…. So stop freaking out will ya!!!!

Why was I wearing a leather jacket? Umm… because I was friggin’ cold? Did you see my hair flying all around? It was windy! So, don’t say “why was she wearing a leather jacket, it was so hot in NYC”. Well, if you were up at 3am on Monday morning, you would have known it was WINDY!!!! :) And we changed at the hotel after the party. Some of you seem to be really upset at this, should I have worn my pretty party dress on the plane people????:)

As far as being at Jen’s triathlon, I wasn’t there! I wish I was! I was with her the night before. I couldn’t go because I would have had to leave my house @ 3am, Angelo had to leave at 6am and wouldn’t have been home to take care of Sofia, so I had to stay with my baby until 9am which was when my mom was coming over to babysit. I saw her right after as well you know. Wow, you guys seem really in a tizzy about this whole trip…. Breathe…:)

My weekend and some answers

Hey all, so I just got back from NYC. I went in Sunday night and came home the same day. I went to Marc’s surprise party; it was a lot of fun. Although I did have my little freak out on the plane, I was proud of myself for going. Right after the party, I got right back on the plane to come home, I was so tired, I had no time to have my freak out on the way back. All was great.

Karrie S.B~ I don’t usually stand in line at Disneyland, that is why I love it there! :) How did the party go?

Mike McD~ I don’t mind people asking… that was my point. I mind the crazy staring and NOT asking. :) I just read your other comments and you never told me what you think of that bread, isn’t it GROSS? :)but ya gotta do it puppy…

Renee~ And I adore you Crumbs… :) did you see my beautiful purple shoes from Marc’s party? Waiting for you to comment…

JP~ Who is my precious angel? YOU!!!! Thank you for pointing out how funny I could be, you know I love that! :)

Deb~ Thanks so very much baby doll

Thorbjorn~ Thank you so much and congrats on your baby!!!

Disneyland… The happiest place on Earth
icon1 Leah | icon2 General | icon4 09 12th, 2008| icon3Comments Off

So, I took Sofia to Disneyland again this past Tuesday. We had such an amazing time! I just really love Disneyland…. I was walking around there thinking, “This is just so cute, and was that always there?” As though it was my first time, but I just love it there, the people… just… just…. the happiest flippin place!

Anyway, I was laughing because sometimes I wish I could record stuff for you guys as it’s happening because then you would get why I don’t love to go out too much. So, I made reservations at the Pirates of The Caribbean restaurant because I really wanted my friends from NYC to have that experience. So, we are all sitting there shoving bread down our throats because we were starving when I look over and see this family trying to get a picture of me, now mind you they are doing this “trick” where they position themselves in front of me like they are taking a picture of their husband, wife, kid, etc but getting me behind them and I’m watching this like “Is she serious?” So, I move a little, and then they re-position the kids so they can try again… so I move to another side of the table, not because I don’t want to take a picture - ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS ASK, but I don’t wanna be caught shoving bread and a pound of butter in my mouth!

So, I move… ok~ Now, I am at the other end of this table, but sitting close to another couple, they STOP talking and proceed to just stare at me. Imagine eating and to your left not even an arms length away, seriously - like I could have said in a very low voice “hand me a shrimp will ya” and they would have heard me - just staring… it took every piece of me not to turn them and say “Do you think you are invisible, because you are not, I can actually see you”.

I’m laughing now just thinking about it. I don’t judge them but it does make me think, why don’t they just say hi or ask for a picture? Why go through all that?

And you know what is even funnier? I did this myself back in the day! I DID the same thing to Christopher Lloyd back in the day…. Sorry Chris!!! :) So, if you are guilty of this, just walk up to the person and very quietly ask for a picture, they might say no but just ask….

OH!!!! I almost forgot, I was in the Disney store and this guy walks up to me and says “ Please take a picture with me”, I say sure as I am posing….. He says “I have watched you since I was 5 years old….then “flash!” FIVE???????????? I would love to see that picture…. I would love to see if they caught my reaction.

Anyway, all in all a beautiful day! Thank you Disney:)

Love,

Leah

September 11th 2008 Anniversary
icon1 Leah | icon2 General | icon4 09 11th, 2008| icon3Comments Off

On this September 11th, I would like us all to take a moment and just remember those who we have lost.

Let us remember that although time has passed and people “may have forgotten” (though they vowed they would “never forget”), the families and friends left behind do not have a choice BUT to remember.

So, even though our lives may seem hard at times and we all do have our own trials and tribulations, those may seem petty in comparison to the loss and agony someone else might have to bear.

Let us all remember - just for a moment please.

To those serving in this war, know that we all love and support you….no matter what, we support you.

Please remember the slogan “We Will Never Forget” and do NOT forget the heroes we have lost and those who have lost their loved ones. Show your love appreciation today to those you come in contact with.

Love,

Leah

Many people have asked how they can help. Well, here is your chance. I know that all of you who visit my blog regularly are loving and caring people. If there is a way that you all could spread the word on this post below to your friends, family and business associates, it would be most appreciated by your soldiers who are serving our country. We can make a difference in their lives and I know you all know how much they need our help. It sounds like a great raffle, it is part of the Anysoldier site that many of you have been helping.

Thank you!

Kisses and LOTS of love,

Leah

In the Motherhood

In The Motherhood~ A recent article came out saying that ABC has picked this show up for 13 episodes and they have cast it with Cheryl Hines, Megan Mallally and Chelsea Handler. I don’t want you all to think that it was my show. I did it on the net and that was that. ABC bought the rights and decided to go forward with it. I hope the show goes as I think it is a great concept. I guess people are confused and thought it was my show and were confused about why I wasn’t in it. I wanted you to know that there is nothing weird about it. I just ‘aint  in it! J

Celebrity Rant Thank You

I want to thank everyone for responding to my “Celebrity Rant”. Some of you seriously made me cry. I am so happy to know that the people I talk to everyday (meaning you all) are as real as I would have hoped you would be. I thank you for being the good people of the world. Truly, thank you.

I get that people think we live this life that is so unapproachable, but we don’t. Maybe guarded because of the level of craziness out there. We live nice lives, but so do many of you. You all are so important, important to yourselves, to your own friends and family and YOU all mean something. Remember that please. No star or celebrity is EVER more than you or more important than you. Everyone has a gift that they leave. Know what makes you all special and try to leave a room a little better because you were in it!

I want you all to feel safe enough to ask me anything you REALLY want to know. Why? Because I want you to get the answer from me. Okay?

Have a great weekend!!!

A Real Blog… Celebrity Rant
icon1 Leah | icon2 Nasty People of the World | icon4 09 4th, 2008| icon3Comments Off

Here is what bothers me about the whole “Take Down a Celebrity/Star Pastime”. I find this whole new “game” really sort of sick. There was a time when celebrity meant that you actually did something – As an artist. As a matter of fact, I think it is now time to define what a Star is and what a Celebrity is.

A star per the Webster’s New World dictionary is: adj. 1.Showing great skill; outstanding. Verb 2. To play an important part in a play, movie, T.V. show etc.

Celebrity~ N.  1. A famous person 2. Fame, renowned (Great fame).

I am sure we can tell the difference between someone who is infamous (has a bad reputation) for who became famous because they acted like an idiot in the press and got attention or because they preyed on a star and got attention that way and of course there is the murderer. Those people probably don’t mind being preyed upon by paparazzi and some even put themselves in a position where they are asking to be judged.

Anyone can be a “Celebrity” and for this I blame the publications for making anyone a Celebrity, the same goes for our “Entertainment” shows. When I use things in quotes please know I am being sarcastic. Ok~ back to my rant.

The internet has been a great outlet for information and it has been a damaging outlet for information. Anonymity (The condition of being anonymous, with no name known) has allowed people to be bigots (a narrow minded person who is prejudice against other religions, opinions etc), racists and generally judgmental and hateful, with no real consequence or responsibility for their words or actions.

Let’s take a recent article that was written about me, this person posted a very bad picture of me on the Web and then wrote comments about my potential new show and, of course, had to make some bigoted remarks about my religion. The reality is if there were no paparazzi feeding the machine no one would be able to find a photo to use to write nasty comments.

Now, could you imagine if you had a bad day and looked like a clown and it was caught on camera and not only that, your religion was being attacked?

What does my work have to do with my religion? Nothing.

What if, I caught someone on their worst day, where they looked like crap, maybe were in a bad mood and I posted that on the internet (by the way, I would be anonymous so they would not be able to defend themselves) and then allowed people to post nasty messages about that person in kind? What if every move they made, there was a criticism for which they could not respond?

I find these people who go on the net in their spare time and write hatred to be utter cowards. I challenge them to not only post a picture of themselves when they choose to say something really nasty, but supply the rest of us with THEIR personal information so maybe we can do a little digging in to THEIR personal life, find some people in THEIR family that maybe are not happy with them or hey maybe some disgruntled employees? Maybe see how the perfect people in the world are doing?

I know that I come off as harsh, but I for one don’t find hate an admirable quality. I wouldn’t hold any religion up for attack because of a single person’s actions. Could you imagine if every time someone took a misstep people said “Oh, she did that because she’s Catholic or Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist…”  (By the way I was raised with Catholicism and still read the bible).

I rarely see in print other nasty comments about other celebrity’s religions. I hope that when you guys are searching the net, you will alert the nasty people of the world that they are in fact being bigots and hateful.  Why has it become fair game to attack people? Because we are in the spotlight? Where was that written? “Yup, she is not human because she is on TV, so GET HER”!

I for one don’t want to know if a celebrity has cellulite or what underwear he wears. I want to be entertained. And when someone finally does gain REAL star power; I hope they take some of their resources and help others.  That is what I want to know about stars.

I want stars to be stars. I don’t want to expose them. There was a time when a star was held in high esteem and there were respectful photographers who referred to artists as “Ms. Monroe”, rather than scream obscenities at them to get a rise out of them.

I guess at the end of the day, I am an old fashioned gal and feel that we should protect those who make us laugh and entertain us.

Love,

Leah
